Here are the rules and regulations for Kameraderie’s weekly photo contest:

1. Categories/topics for the contest would be posted one week before the start of the actual contest.
2. The contest would run for one (1) week and would start at 01:00hrs Sunday and would end at 18:00hrs Saturday.
3. Entries should be of the original to the contestant. Photos taken by other persons other than the contestant would not be accepted.
4. Only registered members are eligible to enter the contest.
5. There are no entry fees that would need to be paid by the contestants.
6. The photos must be the property of the contestant and should not have been published in any way, form or format.

7. The maximum number of entries is two, while the minimum number is one. The entries should be either in black and white or in color. No slides would be accepted. The print size of the entry should not be less that 2″ x 4″ to allow the members to properly view the shoot for judging.
8. The photos submitted should not have been significantly altered in any way else the entry would be automatically disqualified. The only alterations permitted are the following:

1. Red-eye correction/removal/editing
2. Spot editing, one-step/single enhancement (e.g. auto fix or quick fix)
3. Use of filters to sharpen, soften, blur, despeckle, or remove noise
4. Use of corrective functions to improve the natural appearance of the image, such as levels, contrast, brightness, curves, intensity, tone, hue, saturation, lightness, value, color balance, and tint.
9. The administrators and super-moderators this forum are not qualified to join the contest. Moderators are allowed to join the contest.
10. The participant must indicate the subject, date, and location of the photograph on a post accompanying the entry. The entries should be named properly and should not retain the system file name (e.g. DSC0127F.JPG). The photo entry should also have the proper caption accompanying it and the caption should not be longer than 50 characters.
11. Only member votes and ratings with comments/critiques would be accepted. Guest votes is not accepted and is automatically considered invalid.
12. Members who like to vote should at least have a minimum of one (1) post at the forums and two (2) picture uploads at the galleries.
13. Entries should be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the impact and/or unique character on the topic of the contest by the members.
14. The photos must be eligible for posting on a public forum or community. Any entry containing profane, obtrusive, provocative or otherwise questionable content would not be considered and immediately deleted.
15. Contest entries must be posted at their correct galleries. If the contestant has misposted, he/she needs to inform the administrators and super-moderators so that they can move the entry to the proper contest galleries.
16. The photographers would retain full ownership and credit to their photographs. By entering this contest, the contestants agree to have their submitted photos published on this community/forum without any fee or form of compensation. The photo entries would appropriately be credited to the contestant.
17. There would be no cash or in-kind prizes for the weekly contest. The winning entry would get a front-page spot which would run for one week.
18. The winner would be notified by PM.
19. Admins and super-mods reserve the right to delete/remove photos, comments, ratings and critques as they see fit.
20. Admins and super-mods reserve the right to modify and/or augment the contest rules as they see fit.
