Olympus E-3 Digital SLR Announced (Digital Camera Review)
After plenty of anticipation, Olympus is officially announcing their new professional-level digital SLR, the Olympus E-3. The weatherproof, 10 megapixel E-3 sports a swiveling LCD, fast auto focus and a shutter rated for 150,000 cycles. The E-3 body will be available in November 2007 for an estimated street price of $1700.

Timed along with the Olympus E-3 announcement, Olympus is also announcing three new Zuiko Digital lenses, all equipped with Supersonic Wave Drive (SWD) motors for fast and quiet AF performance. The new lenses are the Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm f2.8-4.0 SWD, 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 SWD, and 14-35mm f2.0 SWD. Also being announced is the new ultra-compact Zuiko Digital EC-20 2x teleconverter.

The Canon Powershot A720 IS came onto the scene late this summer to replace its popular predecessor, the A710 IS. This time around, the A720 IS still sports a 6x optical zoom, an increase in resolution (8 megapixels), similar 2.5 inch LCD, and new imaging processor, the DIGIC III.
