Of course not.

Camera gear is cheap.

Magkano na ba ngayon ang Kodak KB-10?

Cheers!

The definition of a good quality camera can sometimes be flame bait

Take for example Michelle Morelos (a.k.a. Glitterdoll).

Actually, Michelle is my favorite example is scenarios like these.

She uses a P&S digicam. But you wouldn't know it from the artisitic excellence that is evident from her images.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Marami nang pinahanga na DSLR users si Michelle. She even made it as a finalist in the Epson photo contest last year.

Photography can be expensive for some people due to actual needs or perceived needs.

Others choose to keep their gear simple - but you would not know if you looked at their output.

You don't have to travel far to find photo opporutnities. The best shots that I have ever taken were of my wife and kids.

Cheers!

gaya nga ng sabi ni mister k, its not the pana, its the indian. kahit saksakan ng ganda ng gamit mo, hindi naman maganda ang mata mo, wala rin.

as to the different places being shot by kamrades here, syempre kuha ka ng pic. remembrance yun eh. me, i do my shooting here in our home & backyard. daming kakaiba if you look hard enough. dami ko ng nakuha na flower pics, insect pics, bird pics. di ko pa nga nakukunan yung bato-bato ng tinitingnan yung sarili nya sa sidemirror ng kotse ko.

in other words, photography need not be expensive.

honga pala, ed, click the link provided by mister k. galing ng pics!

JD and MasterK are right - it's not really the cam that makes a good picture: it would be a person behind the cam. Taking care in composing a shot and thinking how you can get your message across is more than half the essence of a good pictue. Be it that you have a P&S or an expensive DSLR, it doesn't matter. Just remember to put your heart and passion into your stuff and you'd soon find out you are taking some darn prettyn good pics - which I bet you're doing right now.

Ang galing ni Michelle Morelos! wow bilib ako. Good eye for taking photogrpahs talaga.

Thanks to technology nowadays mas affordable na ang Photography. (i think ha) Daming murang digicams out there tas nonstop fun na! Madaling i-edit, ang daming possibilities in just one single shot.

Why travel to other places to take "GOOD" pictures if you can take stunning and breathtaking pictures within your own town/city/neighborhood? Here's a photoblog which contains pictures taken from a 10-mile radius from the author's home:

My advance photography students have a photo shoot at my studio every session. They shoot common everyday objects. The photos look good

How can I disagree, Boss Nic. By the looks of it, a good picture does not necessarily have to be a pleasant, feel-good photo, isn't it? Look at this. This one is not taken with a digital camera, not even with a color film. I bet it is not even auto focus. But there is no mistaking the impact and message. You can see the bullet exit the victim's temple in the original blown up photo.

Eddie Adams won a Pulitzer Award for this photo. I can't help but admire war photographers. Under pressure and under threat, yet they manage to perform their work very well.
